Overview

The Intersection of Legacy and Technical Innovation
In late 2012, Dave Wilson embarked on a journey to create a new iteration of the legendary WAMM. His aim? To craft not just a speaker worthy of its iconic predecessor from the 80s, but to redefine the very essence of music reproduction. The result? The WAMM Master Chronosonic – a pinnacle of laboratory-grade precision in sound. Dave’s Magnum Opus set a new standard, pushing boundaries and challenging his company in unforeseen ways.

Fast forward to 2016, and Dave’s vision became reality. The cost-no-object WAMM Master Chronosonic stands as a testament to his relentless pursuit of sonic perfection. With production deliberately limited to a select few pairs, each WAMM embodies Dave’s unwavering commitment to pushing the limits of music reproduction, regardless of cost or practicality.

For Daryl and the team at Wilson Audio, the WAMM is more than just a speaker – it’s a symbol of Dave’s passion and dedication. Raised in a culture of perfectionism, Daryl absorbed his father’s principles, shaping his own uncompromising standards. So, it was only natural that Daryl would follow in his father’s footsteps, embarking on his own journey to create a statement loudspeaker.

In 2017, Daryl seized the opportunity to push the boundaries further. Inspired by his father’s legacy, he set out to design a flagship loudspeaker that would rival the WAMM. Thus began a wave of research and innovation, culminating in a groundbreaking new category of speaker – one that stands proudly alongside his father’s masterpiece.

Wilson’s New Midrange: Myriad Details
Enter the Alnico QuadraMag – a testament to Wilson’s relentless pursuit of sonic excellence. Rooted in a passion for the authentic reproduction of live music, Wilson’s latest midrange driver draws inspiration from the world’s greatest concert halls.

Dave Wilson’s fascination with the natural beauty of Alnico magnets sparked a quest to create a driver that combined their warmth with the precision of Wilson’s benchmark midrange. Collaborating with Vern Credille, Dave developed the first Alnico prototype – a project that would become his final design endeavor.

Building upon Dave’s groundwork, Daryl and Vern embarked on a year-long journey of experimentation and research. The result? Wilson’s QuadraMag driver – a revolutionary blend of classic Alnico warmth and cutting-edge design.

Featuring an innovative “quadrature” geometry, the QuadraMag delivers unparalleled musicality, harmonic integrity, and ultra-high resolution. It’s a testament to Wilson’s unwavering commitment to pushing the boundaries of audio technology, ushering in a new era of sonic excellence.

Legacy
In 2018, following the success of the Sasha DAW, Daryl Wilson embarked on a mission to push the boundaries of audio engineering. Inspired by his father's legacy with the WAMM, he set out to create a flagship loudspeaker that would redefine excellence in sound reproduction. This endeavor sparked a wave of innovation within Wilson Audio, resulting in the birth of the Chronosonic XVX – a masterpiece that stands alongside his father's iconic creation.

Time & Sound
Precision in the time domain has always been paramount in Wilson's quest for audio perfection. With the WAMM Master Chronosonic Micrometer system, painstaking adjustments were made to ensure unparalleled accuracy. Building upon this legacy, the XVX aims to approach theoretical perfection with ease, thanks to advancements in adjustment mechanisms, with increments as fine as two-millionths-of-a-second.

Form
Daryl Wilson's uncompromising nature shines through in the design of the Chronosonic XVX. Freed from the constraints of cost and practicality, he has created a speaker that embodies his unwavering commitment to excellence. Drawing from technology developed for the WAMM, the XVX boasts a simpler yet equally effective form. With an array of cutting-edge features and manufacturing processes, it stands as a testament to Wilson's dedication to realism and emotional depth in music reproduction.
