Underworld is a British electronic music group that was founded in Cardiff, Wales in 1987. It is the main joint venture of Rick Smith and Karl Hyde. Notable ex-members include Darren Price, who performed with the live band from 2005 until 2016, and Darren Emerson, who was a member from 1990 to 2000.
Underworld is well-known for its evocative, progressive music, Hyde's enigmatic, stream-of-consciousness lyrics, and their intense live performances. They have influenced many other musicians and have been included on the soundtracks and scores of movies, TV shows, and the London 2012 Summer Olympics.
