Chillwave is a genre of electronic music that emerged in the late 2000s. And among the chillwave artists, Toro y Moi stands one feet above the rest.
Created by Chaz Bundick, Causers of This, was his first album. The album was a critical and commercial success, and it helped to establish Toro y Moi as one of the leading artists in the chillwave movement.
Toro y Moi's latest album, MAHAL, is a departure from his previous work in some ways. The album features a more dance-oriented sound, with heavier beats and more electronic elements. However, MAHAL still retains Toro y Moi's signature mellow, dreamy sound.
