American indie rock multi-instrumentalist, singer, and songwriter Andrew Wegman Bird. He has put out sixteen studio albums since 1996, along with a number of live albums and EPs, covering a wide range of musical styles such as swing, indie rock, and folk. His distinctive style of violin playing, which he combines with voice, whistling, and loop and effect pedals, is what makes him most famous.
After that, he founded Andrew Bird's Bowl of Fire, a swing band that put out three albums between 1998 and 2001. His first solo album after Bowl of Fire broke up, Weather Systems (2003), signaled a move from jazz to indie music. The 2020 Grammy Awards have "Best Folk Album" as one of Bird's 2019 album My Finest Work Yet's nominations.
