Sonus Faber has launched the Concertino G4, the latest addition to the Concertino series which is one of the brand’s iconic range of speakers. The Italian made artisan finish upholds the brand’s reputation with incredible sound and build quality.
The perfect blend of heritage and innovation can be seen in the new speakers, as they are built of the latest materials to fit in any bookshelf. The brand celebrates the success of previous Concertino, by selling out the first 300 pieces as “Maestro” editions, which will have a brass plaque with sequential numbering on the walnut side panel.
The core feature of Concertino G4 is its cork-made central chassis. We have seen the cork-made elements in Sonus Faber’s Concertino, Suprema and Sonetto series. Yet, Concertino G4 is the first to use cork in its midwoofer. Sonus Faber says that the use of cork has brought a huge improvement in the sound quality while keeping the speakers classic with its traditional trapezoidal shape. The new structural design facilitates precise modeling, thereby reducing internal sound echoes and the need for additional damping within the enclosure.
Paying homage to classic design, the speakers' side panels are constructed from solid walnut and feature ribbed surfaces. This innovative approach provides structural support for the cabinet without compromising its sleek appearance. The cork and front baffle structures are covered using recycled leather or plant-based leather produced by Ohoskin. Sonus faber collaborated with Ohoskin to develop a premium, cruelty-free, and eco-friendly fabric replacement for leather. This Italian-made textile material enhances the product's quality.
The Concertino G4 is a two-way speaker system featuring a silk dome tweeter surrounded by an aluminum ring and a paper pulp midwoofer housed in an organic frame. The speaker's cabinet is made of wood, with a walnut port to reduce sound distortion. The binding posts are high-quality brass with wooden accents.
Sonus Faber emphasizes the speaker's simple crossover design, which they claim improves sound clarity and depth. The speaker's overall aesthetic can be enhanced with optional wooden stands that match the cabinet's design.
