LCD-X Headphone Overview

The Audeze LCD-X, initially released in 2013 and significantly updated in 2021, is a highly regarded open-back planar magnetic headphone favoured by professionals and audiophiles. It features 106mm Ultra-Thin Uniforce™ diaphragms with Fazor™ waveguides, delivering an exceptionally neutral, accurate, and detailed sound across a 10 Hz – 50 kHz frequency range.

Its open-back design provides a spacious, natural soundstage, while its 20 Ohm impedance and 103 dB/1mW sensitivity make it remarkably efficient and easy to drive from various sources. The 2021 update improved its tonal balance and comfort with a new suspension headband. Constructed from anodized aluminum with plush earpads, the LCD-X is durable and comfortable for extended sessions. It connects via detachable mini-XLR cables and is compatible with Audeze’s Reveal+ plugin, making it an ideal choice for critical listening, mixing, and mastering.
