Sonetto VIII Loudspeakers
ITALIAN TRADITIONAL CULTURE
Sonus Faber always found its inspiration in the highest Italian culture. This time we entrusted the history of our Literature for representing the new Sonetto Collection.
The Sonetto (Sonnet) is the most ancient Italian Poetic structure. Originally it meant “Sound, Melody“and was traditionally used to accompany music performances. The first step in the Sonus faber world brings the name of the foundations of Literature history in Italy and in the rest of the world.
DESIGN
Sonetto VIII is the most powerful 3-way speaker of the Sonetto collection with three 180mm woofers for the best reproduction of lower frequencies and high-end standards. We have designed a speaker that completely represents our roots. The entire collection is a true Sonus faber that features all the iconic elements of the brand: natural sound, natural materials, the Lute shape, the excellent finishes typical of Italian craftsmanship, and manufacturing done completely in our factory in Vicenza.
Sonetto Center II
Home theater at the Highest Level
The new entry of the line, Sonetto Center II is the largest high performance 3-way center-channel speaker, featuring 2 x 150 mm woofers, for an optimal lowest frequencies reproduction. The perfect center channel for people who demand the very best in home theatre performance.

Sonetto III Loudspeakers
A sound that surprises the listener, people who loves music and its natural reproduction.
LEATHER TOP
The Sonus Faber Sonetto collection’s floorstanding and bookshelf models inherit from the Olympica line the leather top, hand sewn, soft to the touch and embellished by the hot branded Sonus Faber Logo.
TWEETER, MIDRANGE & WOOFER
The combination of a silk dome tweeter with the DAD (Damped Apex Dome) technology and a midrange with a special natural fibre and a paper blend air dried diaphragm, defines our iconic ‘Voice Of Sonus Faber’. This configuration that characterised the entire Sonus Faber catalogue, from the Reference to the Olympica Collection, is available for the first time in this price range. The Sonetto III speakers have been designed from scratch specifically for this collection and the feature the die cast basket, done completely in Sonus Faber laboratories. For an optimal lowest frequencies reproduction, a special aluminium alloy diaphragm has been designed. It allows an ultra-fast, tight and yet deep bass performance.
LUTE SHAPED
The lute shape that characterises most of the Sonus Faber models, offers a solution that ensures no internal parallel surfaces and a perfect control over internal resonances.
REFLEX PORT
The Sonetto collection’s reflex ports are all sited on the base of the speakers, except for the centre channels, to keep the design as clean as possible and at the same time make in-room placement very forgiving.
STRUCTURAL RIGIDITY
Consistent with the most prestigious Sonus Faber models, aluminium has been chosen for the column feet, extruded or milled from solid billets, to provide an extreme rigidity.
MX100 A/V Processor
The MX100 A/V Processor is designed for today’s home theaters that only need digital inputs and don’t require any legacy analog inputs that were used in past years, decades, and centuries. It offers unparalleled McIntosh home theater performance in a streamlined design that gives you exactly what you need to enjoy all your favorite HD and 4K programming, Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD discs, and DVDs.
The MX100 has been designed to be heard but not necessarily seen. It’s well suited to be installed in a hidden or out-of-the-way A/V equipment rack. It has rack-friendly 2U physical dimensions and rack mounting brackets to facilitate installation (the mounting brackets are removable for non-rack installations). Not limited to just rack installation, it also looks and works well when placed out in the open for all to see and enjoy.
It has 4 HDMI inputs and 1 HDMI output, with all being HDCP 2.2 compliant. Each HDMI port also has 18Gbps of bandwidth to support High Dynamic Range (HDR) formats Dolby Vision™, HDR10 and HLG; 4K Ultra HD at 50/60Hz; 4:4:4 color spacing; Rec. 2020; and 3D video pass-through. Enhanced Audio Return Channel (eARC) functionality is included on the HDMI output. eARC offers improved bandwidth so the MX100 can receive higher resolution audio from your TV to produce the best possible sound quality. Two coax and 2 optical digital audio inputs are also included.
McIntosh MX100 A/V Processor
For outputting audio, the MX100 has 11.2 discrete audio channels, also known as a 7.2.4 home theater configuration. Seven premium 32-bit Digital-to-Analog Converters (DACs) provide audiophile grade processing for the best audio playback. The MX100 can be connected to your home theater amplifiers via its 13 balanced (also referred to as XLR) outputs. By utilizing balanced connectors, you can be assured of the cleanest sound being sent through your balanced audio cables to your amplifier(s) and ultimately to your home theater speakers and subwoofer(s). Bass and treble tone controls are included to help fine tune the audio to your personal preferences.
The MX100 is compatible with leading home theater surround sound and object-based 3D audio formats Dolby® Atmos and DTS:X™. It’s also fully compatible with 4K Ultra HD video sources for the best possible picture quality. To further help deliver the clearest and most earth-shattering sound possible, the MX100 can be fine-tuned to your home theater’s unique acoustical properties via the built-in Audyssey MultEQ® XT32 calibration software that has more than ten thousand individual control points allowing finer details of the room’s problems to be captured and corrected.
Setup is easily performed via computer interface. To save time, your installer can pre-configure your unit before bringing it to your home and then simply load the configuration file at installation. Similarly, you or your integrator could backup your configuration file onto a computer or USB stick for safe keeping; then you could even experiment with different configurations to listen for better performance safe in the knowledge that you could reinstall the original setup. The MX100 can be fully operated via the remote control, or your integrator can easily incorporate it into your home automation system via RS232 control protocol.
The MX100 can be used with any combination of McIntosh home theater amplifiers, such as the MI347 7-Channel Amplifier – which is rack mountable just like the MX100, the MC255 5-Channel Amplifier, or the MC257 7-Channel Amplifier among others. If you’re using additional surround sound or ceiling speakers, add the MI254 4-Channel Amplifier or MI128 8-Channel Amplifier (both also rack mountable) to completely power your home theater with McIntosh power.
While having a streamlined design, the MX100 still includes many McIntosh design cues including a black glass front panel, an illuminated McIntosh logo, rotary control knobs, and a familiar form factor highlighted by silver trim.
MI347 7-Channel Digital Amplifier
The MI347 7-Channel Digital Amplifier is a dedicated home theater amplifier that delivers an immersive sonic experience that provides a heart-stopping, edge-of-your-seat audio experience in the comfort of your home theater. It uses highly sophisticated closed-loop digital switching amplifiers that are paired with extremely robust power supplies that produce audio performance levels rarely heard in home theaters.
Meant to be heard more than seen – such as being installed in an out-of-sight A/V equipment rack, the MI347 has a simplified and understated exterior. But rest assured that the internal circuitry and components have received the full attention of the McIntosh engineers to make you feel like you are part of your favorite movies. With its rack-friendly 3U height, it can easily be installed in your A/V rack via the included rack-mounting brackets (the mounting brackets are removable for non-rack installations). But the MI347 is not limited to just rack installations, as it can also be placed out in the open for all to see and enjoy.
In a home theater, the most important audio channels or speakers are the front left, front right, and center channel speakers. These are where a majority of the dialogue and the loudest and most prominent special effects resonate. As such, the MI347 will deliver 250 Watts at 8 Ohms or 300 Watts at 4 Ohms to each of these three speakers. The MI347’s other four channels are meant to drive the still important but less power-hungry surround-sound speakers or ceiling speakers. To each of these four channels, the MI347 will deliver a healthy 125 Watts at 8 Ohms or 200 Watts at 4 Ohms.
A highly efficient Class D amplifier, the MI347 does not require noisy cooling fans to maintain nominal operating temperature; it also features an abundance of cooling vents on the top and sides to further assist with heat dissipation. On the front panel, multi-color LED indicators display the status of each channel. On the back, both a balanced and unbalanced input is included for each channel along with our standard 5-way speaker binding posts.
The MI347 can be used with any McIntosh home theater A/V Processor like our MX123, MX170, or rack-mountable MX100. If you’ve got more than 7 audio channels in your home theater, such as with Dolby® Atmos or DTS:X™, you can add our MI254 4-Channel Digital Amplifier or MI128 8-Channel Digital Amplifier (both rack-mountable) to deliver McIntosh power to all your home theater speakers.
Other features included with the MI347:
– Power Guard® signal overload technology that prevents overdriving and damaging your speakers
– Sentry Monitor™ short-circuit protection circuit that disengages the output stage should current ever approach unsafe operating levels and then resets automatically when operating conditions return to normal
– Power Control to automatically turn other connected McIntosh components on and off
– Eco-friendly on/off signal sensing that turns the unit off if no input signal has been detected for a set amount of time and – perhaps more conveniently – automatically turns the MI347 on when it senses a signal from your home theater processor
The MI347 includes many McIntosh design cues including a black glass front panel, an illuminated McIntosh logo, and a familiar form factor highlighted by silver trim.
