The Perlisten R4s Surround Speaker is a highly adaptable and high-performance passive loudspeaker designed specifically for immersive home theater surround sound. As part of Perlisten Audio’s R-Series, the R4s stands out with its unique selectable radiation patterns, allowing it to operate as a monopole, dipole, or bipole speaker. This flexibility enables users to optimize the surround field for different room acoustics and desired sonic effects. It features a dedicated front-firing DPC-Array with three 26mm silk dome drivers, along with two 4-inch HPF woofers on the front and additional 4-inch HPF drivers on its side baffles. This driver complement, combined with its sealed (acoustic suspension) enclosure, ensures tight, articulate sound and seamless timbre matching with other R-Series speakers.

The R4s is THX Ultra certified, guaranteeing its ability to achieve reference-level output with very low distortion. Ideal for on-wall mounting, the Perlisten R4s provides a premium and versatile solution for creating an enveloping and precise multi-channel audio experience in any high-end home theater.

As with all Perlisten loudspeakers, the R4s is centred around the DPC array, comprising of three 26mm soft domes in a vertical array. The centre dome is the HF unit, covering frequencies above 4.4kHz. The output from this unit is controlled on the horizontal plane to reduce dispersion to focus on the listening position, reducing HF reflection from side walls. Vertically, its output is highly controlled, vastly reducing floor and ceiling reflections.

The flanking 26mm midrange domes cover between 1.25kHz and 4.4kHz, producing a more responsive midrange that is far less coloured by what would conventionally be a larger driver.

As the R4s is primarily designed as a wall-mounted effects speaker, the DPC array sits below a 6.5" bass driver covering from 1.25kHz downwards, acting in a sealed cabinet making them very room friendly. They're flexible enough to also be used as all five loudspeakers in a wall-mounted 5.1 surround system, for example, for those wanting a non in-wall, but discrete high performance system.

The R4s will cover 300Hz-20kHz within only a very narrow +/-1.5dB deviation, with typical against-wall placement providing a bass response down to 48Hz at -10dB, and produce a peak output of 109.5dB.

All of this tech helps the R4s achieve a THX Ultra rating, capable of effortlessly filling large rooms with cinema levels of sound quality.
