The Sumiko Rainier Cartridge is the gateway to Sumiko’s acclaimed “Gem Series” of moving magnet (MM) phono cartridges, delivering a refined and musical listening experience at an accessible price point. Designed for both new and upgrading vinyl enthusiasts, it features a bonded 0.3 x 0.7 mil elliptical diamond stylus on an aluminum cantilever, meticulously crafted for accurate groove tracing and enhanced detail.

With a 2.5 mV output and a frequency response of 12 Hz−25 kHz, the Rainier offers a smooth, balanced, and engaging sonic signature, characterized by solid bass, clear mids, and non-fatiguing highs. Its newly designed, resonance-optimized body, complete with convenient threaded inserts for easy mounting, ensures stable and consistent performance. A key advantage of the Rainier is its upgradeability: its body can accept the higher-performance Olympia or Moonstone replacement styli, providing a seamless path to improved sound quality without replacing the entire cartridge.
