Triton 2+ Overview
The Triton Series Tower Speakers are high-performance loudspeakers, with the top four models including a built-in powered subwoofer. All the Triton Towers are engineered for superb performance in both high quality two channel stereo systems as well as in multi-channel home theater and music systems. Their sleek, elegantly curved and tapered design is not only gorgeous but is important from a performance perspective as well. Performance-wise, the Triton Towers all deliver boxless three-dimensional imaging, which reviewers have hailed as “mystical”, “magical” – and, best summed up by the dramatic, “had us believing that the entire surface of the front wall was covered with speakers.”. Likewise, the powerful, deep subwoofer bass blends perfectly with the silky smooth, utterly transparent midrange and high frequencies, putting many dramatically more expensive speakers to shame.
The powered subwoofer sections in each Triton Reference, Triton One.R, Triton Two, Triton Two+ and Three+ incorporate a high power GoldenEar digital amplifier. The amplifier’s DSP design not only yields extremely linear and low distortion response, but also dynamically controls operating parameters for optimum performance. The amp drives up to three front-mounted quadratic subwoofer bass drivers which are coupled to multiple side-mounted quadratic planar infrasonic bass radiators. The result is awe-inspiring bass, which delivers both musical subtlety as well as room-shaking authority. The advantages of building the subwoofers into the Tritons are many. First, of course, this eliminates the need for additional subwoofer boxes in the room. But more important are the performance advantages. By engineering the subwoofer as an integral part to the speaker, we get far superior integration and blending than can be achieved with separate subwoofers, even when using two. The two subwoofers in a pair of Tritons couple better to the air in the room, helping to better deal with the room’s eigenmodes and smooth out response. Of course, the dual subwoofers are also intrinsically more powerful and couple together synergistically for more truly exceptional bass.
The hallmark of all GoldenEar speakers, the Triton Tower Speakers all utilize our High-Velocity Folded Ribbon (HVFR™) tweeter design. The HVFR tweeter propagates sound waves and moves the air by squeezing it with its accordion-like pleated diaphragm, rather than pushing it as conventional drivers do. Greater efficiency, lower distortion, improved dynamics and superbly detailed sound are the result of this amazing technology. And every Triton Tower utilizes our amazing spider-leg, cast-basket mid/bass drivers with proprietary computer optimized cone design that assures smooth, extended response.
The Triton Towers’ striking, but harmoniously minimalist design, can fit nicely into a great variety of decors while going almost unnoticed. Their narrow baffle creates a sleek, sophisticated look that also helps the speakers create truly magnificent 3D imaging with tremendous depth, height, and width extending well beyond the loudspeakers themselves. The Triton Two+, Three+, Five, and Seven Towers are beautifully finished with a simple black cloth and piano-black base and top cap.

SuperSat 60C Overview

A great center speaker for a space-saving home theater setup
SuperSat 60C is the largest center speaker in GoldenEar’s wall-mountable SuperSat Series. Place it horizontally between two matching SuperSat 60 satellites for a seamless front soundstage. It delivers clean, accurate dialogue thanks to its impactful woofers, passive bass radiators, and wide-dispersion tweeter. Premium drivers for premium sound
The speaker cabinet is made from aerospace-grade aluminum and has an eye-catching gloss black finish. In the middle, you’ll find GoldenEar’s low-distortion HVFR (High Velocity Folded Ribbon) tweeter. It squeezes the air between the folds of a high-density diaphragm, rather than pushing air like a piston. This design helps the tweeter to maintain a wide dispersion pattern and have a smooth response all the way up to 35,000 Hz, making it perfect for voices and action alike.
Flanking the tweeter are four high-definition 4-1/2″ mid/bass woofers that sonically benefit from cast baskets, which provide the extra stiffness and rigidity. The strong magnets used in the SuperSat 60C center speaker’s structure plus the proprietary cone shape keep their cone movement linear and clean. Each woofer uses GoldenEar’s proprietary MVPP (multi-vaned phase plug), which controls energy in the center of the drivers and minimizes cone diffraction, a form of distortion. Furthest out from the center are two 4″x7″ passive radiators that help to increase the overall bass response of the speaker.
Space-saving placement options
Threaded inserts let you add GoldenEar’s optional SuperSwivel brackets to hang the speaker. Or you can just use the keyhole slots to mount it flush to your wall. If you’re going to place it on your TV stand, you can use the adjustable leveling feet on the back of the speaker to get the perfect angle.
Supersat 50 Overview
The SuperSat 50 is a slim, 27” long, 2.5”-deep speaker which is available in both a vertical version (on-wall or on optional Table/Shelf or Floor stand) as well as a horizontal, center-channel-optimized version, the SuperSat 50C. Its powerful and dynamic output capabilities make it the ideal center channel for a Triton based theater system, as well as a perfect choice to go alongside a wall- or shelf-mounted flat screen. Of course, the 2.5” depth makes it a perfect on-wall match for the new generation of super thin flat screens.
Its cabinet is constructed from piano-gloss-black-finished aerospace-grade aluminum and contains two GolderEar 4.5” cast basket bass/midrange drivers with Multi-Vaned Phase Plug (MVPP) configured in a D’Appolito array, surrounding the High-Velocity Folded Ribbon tweeter. Two 4”x 7” quadratic planar low-frequency radiators complete the driver complement. Wall mounting the SuperSat 50 is easily accomplished using the threaded inserts or keyhole mounts on the rear, or table top using the optional smoked-glass Table/Shelf Stand 50, or even floor standing using the optional SuperStand Floor Stand – note total height of speaker and floor stand is 48″. The horizontal SuperSat 50C center-channel version includes adjustable leveling feet allowing for multiple angles when shelf/table top mounting.

We’re sure that Henry Ford got asked “Why not a horse?” more than a few times during that time of change as well. The automobile was a better, new technology – and in the same way that the horse gave way to the auto, the old horn-loaded dome (and even older horn) tweeters, will give way to the better, new technology air-motion tweeters. GoldenEar’s High Velocity Folded Ribbon (HVFR) tweeter couples much more efficiently with air and its non-resonant diaphragm has virtually no moving mass. With none of the piston-like motion issues of domes, a much larger acoustic surface area for significant output abilities, as well as excellent dispersion, the GoldenEar HVFR tweeter is a sonic (and measured performance) marvel.
GoldenEar speakers will sound great right out of the box, but be prepared for some further improvements during the first 100 hours of playing time. Although there is nothing “breaking in”, critical listeners all agree that during the first 100 hours of use there are audible changes and subtle improvements in sound quality in any high-performance speaker system.
Nothing, in that a well designed, good sounding pair of speakers will sound good on both Music and Movies. Although not practical for most Home Theaters, movie sound production studios will often use five to seven of the exact same speaker (plus subwoofers), for their playback monitoring during the mixing process. A great sounding home theater should consist of a great sounding pair of speakers combined with performance and fidelity-matching center and surround/rear speakers. This will also insure you can enjoy both movie soundtracks AND music on your high performance audio/video system. This applies to anything but the very largest (commercial-sized, not “Home”) Theaters. In very large spaces there are other considerations that do not play out in even the largest of residential in-home theaters.
